Ep 91 - Grief and the Workplace with Lizzie Pickering

Grief can be felt for many reasons – death, loss of identity, the end of a relationship, a diagnosis or the loss of a job – and will affect everyone in their working life. However, it’s often still a taboo topic in the workplace. Lizzie Pickering is encouraging organisations to open the conversation and offer thoughtful grief support for their employees. Lizzie is a grief investigator, consultant and author and guides people in not only surviving grief, but also how to live the best possible life with grief.

We discuss:

  • Lizzie’s own experience of grief and her journey to become a grief investigator
  • How we can shift our perspective of grief, stay open to it and embrace a life with it
  • A best practice guide for organisations offering grief support to their employees
  • Things you can do and say as a manager or colleague supporting a grieving team member
